Awareness & Capacity Building Excursion Tours: for severely disabled people to places of historical, cultural, religious and tourist interests’ promoting the concept of Barrier-Free Tourism. Some of the places visited include Agra, Mathura, Bharatpur, Jaipur, Udaipur, Mt. Abu, Ahmedabad, Vadodra, Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, Dalhousie, Chamba, Amritsar, Shimla, Kurushetra, Rishikesh, Mussoorie, Nainital, Lucknow, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mysore, Chennai, Tirupati, Goa, Port Blair, Bangalore, Gauhauti and Shillong etc.

Dilli Haat: The cooperation between Samarthya and Delhi Tourism resulted in making Dilli Haat barrier free. The changes include: leveling of front plaza flooring, demarcated pathway, lowering of ticket counter, merging of level differences and unisex accessible toilet. Around 27 small and big ramps with handrails provide access to Dilli Haat office, exhibition halls, stalls, STD/ISD booth, drinking water facility, approach to toilets and eatable stalls.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC): An access audit of the sample station was conducted in April and followed it till its completion in November 2002. Samarthya was invited on the inaugural run of the Delhi Metro on 24th December 2002. The work is still being followed.

High Capacity Bus System (HCBS): Associated with IIT Delhi on accessible designs for low floor bus, bus shelters and dedicated lane. Inputs and designs have also been provided to Tata Telco, Jamshedpur.

Research Design Standards Organization (RDSO) & Integral Coach Factory (ICF): On request, designs and standards with graphic illustrations of accessible stations and railway coaches were provided.

Office of the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities:Resource persons for “Access for All” Workshops at Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Chandigarh etc. Sensitization Workshops for service providers, government agencies, transport department among others at Delhi. Access audits of more than 20 prominent public buildings have been conducted - Indira Gandhi Domestic airport and Nizammudin Railway Stations, New Delhi; Domestic airport, Mumbai; India International Centre; India Habitat Centre; RML Hospital; State Emporium Complex, B.K.S. Marg etc.

Access Audits: of more than 45 public utility buildings have been conducted in various States- Andaman, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chandigarh, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttranchal, Uttar Pradesh among others.
